HTC uses patents purchased from Google to sue Apple

The legal battle between Apple and the Rest of the World continues, with one of their opponents HTC making a surprising move. It is suing Apple back with its own patents, but not just any patents but patents purchased from Google.

Yes, Google has decided to step in and protect one of its partners by selling some key patents to HTC for an undisclosed amount. Its interesting why Google did not choose to sue Apple directly. Perhaps they just wanted to make some money, after losing a lot purchasing Motorola Mobility. Or they just did not want to get their hands dirty. But anyway, HTC patent portfolio is now bolstered and it is ready to fight Apple on its own turf.
