Motorola Atrix Bell Motorola Atrix Gets Official for Bell $170, Starting March 17

The Motorola Atrix has been getting busy down in the US, but until today, those of us north of the border were out in the cold. As usual. Bell recently announced the exclusive availability of the Motorola Atrix, and its little dock too. It will go for $169.95 on a three-year contract starting March 17. Not quite the $129 ATT is asking with a two-year contract, but we are gluttons for punishment in Canada.

The Motorola Atrix is quite the beast it packs a dual-core 1 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM, 4-inch 540 x 960 display, 16 GB of internal storage plus microSD memory card, gigantic 1930 mAh battery, 5 megapixel camera plus front-facing video cam, runs Android 2.2, plus the usual stuff like Wi-Fi, GPS, and HSPA+ 3G.  As if that were not enough, the thing got a fingerprint reader on the back, HDMI-out to get your videos onto your TV, and can plug into a pretty neat laptop dock for when you want a bigger screen and a keyboard. We have got a hands-on video over here, if you want to take a look.

Bell loses some brownie points for using the god-awful term "superphone", and a few more for calling the Atrix HSPA+ support 4G, but I guess that was bound to happen sooner or later. As a part of the launch, Bell is giving away one of five Motorola Atrix prize packs, which includes the phone, the lapdock, and the HDMI multimedia dock.
