A few months later, in May, the CEO of STMicroelectronics told Forbes in an interview that Nokia will release a Windows Phone running on the ST-Ericsson U8500 chipset and that over the course of 2012 Nokia will release about 12 Windows Phones, each running on a more advanced version of the U8500.

In July, In an interview with Louis Tannyeres, Chief Chip Architect at ST-Ericsson, he said "The NovaThor U85xx family will definitely support Window Phone."
