Samsung: We are Never Pursuing A webOS Deal

With HP all but killing off webOS as a smartphone platform rumours immediately started as to who might be interested in possibly acquiring the OS. Top of that list for many people was Samsung. It was a pretty flimsy rumour to begin with of course given that Samsung are already using three different platforms i.e. Android, Windows Phone 7 and their own Bada. Nevertheless the rumours persisted.

Well Samsung head man, CEO Choi Gee Sung, has firmly quashed any such hopes. Speaking at the IFA he stated that Samsung would never get onboard with webOS. You cannot get much more final than that now can you? Just for good measure though he went on to say that he did not think very highly of the trend of acquiring an operating system.
