Sony Ericsson X10 Gets Stock Froyo ROM

25 November, 2010 Sony Ericsson

Xperia X10

Sony Ericsson X10 flagship has not always had the easiest of times since it was first launched earlier this year. One of the biggest gripes, probably the biggest actually, has been the outdated version of Android its running. Even with an update to Eclair (Android 2.1) the X10 is still running an older version of the OS.

Well there is some relief at hand as X10 owners now have the option of using a stock version of Froyo (Android 2.2). The stock option, as the name implies, does away with Mediascape and Timescape in favour of a layout the way Google intended.

Now before you chaps get all excited and go rushing to install this ROM you need to remember that this is not 100% perfect. There are a number of things that do not work properly such as video playback and various codecs. Still if you want to try it out any way head on over to
XDA Devs and take a look for yourself.
