Sony Ericsson Xperia Play users more likely to pay for games

According to Sony Ericsson, Xperia Play users are more likely to pay for games than other Android smartphone owners. As a matter of fact, the Swedish-Japanese handset maker said that more than 75% of people with the first PlayStation-certified device are "paying to play." The company head of market development Dominic Neil-Dwyer said that their gaming-focused device is "reversing a trend of a majority not paying for games."

At the moment there are about 150 games optimized for the Xperia Play that fully take advantage of the phone side-sliding gamepad, resembling the one Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) has. Among the publishers that are releasing these games are major companies like EA and Gameloft.
