The iPad was skipped when the iOS 4.1 update came out but it will be getting iOS 4.2 Very Soon in the coming Few Months. This new version will unlock some Wanted Features of the iPad that is currently locked down such as multitasking, combined email inbox, folders and other Features too. May be The biggest change that iOS 4.2 will bring to the iPad is obviously Multitasking. Its the feature everyone Talking about since day one. Many people have been taking a peek at the onscreen keyboard bundled with Windows Phone 7. Nokia have been talking up their in-house Ovi Maps platform, and consequently talking down Google Maps in the process. Vice president of markets at Nokia has made the claim that Ovi Maps is in fact better than Google Maps and its all due to features such as the side-loading of map data rather than 3G streaming and pedestrian navigation as well as Underground route advice.
"Nokia, not Google, is the leader in mobile navigation. We lead the market in terms of functionality and reach. Ovi Maps, unlike Google, offers pedestrian navigation, as well as the best line to take on the Underground, plus on Ovi Maps you do not need to be connected. Thanks to this, Ovi Maps is far less data hungry than Google service, because we are optimised for mobile use."
All very well and good, but the claims do not completely stack up, for one thing Google does actually have pedestrian directions for Google Maps on Android handsets. At any rate its certainly fighting words from Nokia and they are playing to win, summing up their attitude Savander said "This is a space we intend to own."

AMOLED vs. S-LCD match. S-LCD does well in contrast and color reproduction though not so well when it comes to the promised lower power usage and sunlight legibility.

It looks like Motorola will soon be joining the other companies (Apple, Samsung, Amazon, JooJoo..etc) with a tablet device on sale if inventory listing reports are to be believed. Nokia today announced that Anssi Vanjoki, Executive Vice President and head of Nokia Mobile Solutions unit, has resigned from the company. Vanjoki resignation comes as something of a surprise, considering the company will host its annual Nokia World show in London starting tomorrow, and new smartphones are expected to be announced. Vanjoki will remain with Nokia for six months. Vanjoki exit comes on the heels of the replacement of Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, the President and CEO of Nokia with Stephen Elop the President of Microsoft Business Division. and the NEW Nokia CEO.

What is OVI Files? Why Nokia closed it down? The models are already in shops, but when the customers try to launch an application they will get a message that the service is no longer supported. It does not sound nice for a new phone. Apple HDR photography tool for iOS 4.1 on the iPhone 4 will soon be available for iPhone 3GS and 3G owners but only for jailbroken handsets. A New Hack appears which will apparently be included as part of the Cydia unofficial download store available for jailbroken devices.
HDR in iOS 4.1 takes three photos rather than a single frame, one purposefully over-exposed and another under-exposed and then combines them to produce an image that has detail from all three. As Apple has officially limited the new functionality to the 5-megapixel iPhone 4, but while the iPhone 3G/3GS camera is lower resolution (2MP and 3.2MP) so that users will still likely see some improvement in their photography.

This update adds proxy server support and push notifications for the MobileMe Calendar beta (Microsoft Outlook 2007 or 2010 are also required). Paul Jacobs the CEO of Qualcomm announced that Qualcomm would be releasing 1.5 GHz chips in Q1 of next year at a recent appearance on stage in London. Apple announcement today that it has lifted restrictions on its third-party developer guidelines has direct implications for Adobe Packager for iPhone, a feature in the Flash Professional CS5 authoring tool. This feature was created to enable Flash developers to quickly and easily deliver applications for iOS devices. The feature is available for developers to use today in Flash Professional CS5, and we will now resume development work on this feature for future releases.
So what does this mean? Perhaps that developers will begin creating applications using Adobe "Flash-to-iPhone" tool again, which allowed developers to create applications in Adobe Flash and then port (convert) them to the Apple iOS 3 platform.

European retailer Germanos will launch two new dual SIM Motorola phones in October: Motorola EX115 and its a dual SIM Motorola device and said to be available in Europe on October,18.
The Motorola EX115 has a regular display and a full QWERTY keyboard and should cost only about €95 ($120) and it packs a 3.2MP camera with Bluetooth 2.1
Google are putting it about that Froyo is not meant for use on tablet devices. Not that manufacturers cannot use it on a tablet. Hugo Barra Google products Director says: "Froyo is Not optimized for Tablets." Google have already said of course that they will promoting their upcoming Chrome OS for use in tablet devices, but then it also seems that future iterations of Android will be optimized for tablets, as Samsung recently announced they will be releasing Honeycomb powered tablets in the next year or two.
All this means of course a certain degree of confusion amongst consumers as to which they should opt for. Google seems quite sure that Froyo is not the one to go for on a tablet though. Apparently it all comes down to the Market and how apps work, or do not as the case may be, on tablet devices. "The way Android Market works is its not going to be available on tablets that do not allow devices and applications to run correctly." said Hugo Barra, director of products for mobile at Google.
The Acer Liquid Metal Android phone Spotted with images and some leaked specs too. it will run the Android 2.2 Froyo with the Acer Shell 4.0 on top of it. Under the hood there should be an 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7230-1 processor, 512MB of RAM and 512MB or ROM memory.

Shortly after Apple Released the iOS 4.1 update and it became available for iPhone and iPod touch users an iphone hacker called (pod2g) claims that he found an exploit that will allow users to jailbreak the newly patched OS and its a boot ROM exploit and thats meaning that it targets a low-level part of the OS and that Apple will have to update its hardware to fix it and thats impossible as Apple cannot patch up this exploit in any new hardware before it leaves the factory, but once that boot rom is flashed and the phone is assembled, its a done deal. So its Good News for Jailbreakers that they can JB and Unlock their own iphones with iOS 4.1!

Samsung have been talking up the Galaxy Tab and taking some shots at the iPad in the process. Samsung head of product planning (on the photo below) said that in his opinion there were not any features on the Galaxy tab that were weaker than the Apple iPad. He pointed out the Tab strengths such as being able to make voice and video calls, something the iPad cannot do as its an iPad on an iPhone so the Galaxy Tab is combining both iPad and iPhone on a same device.
He also mentioned the weight of the device saying "consumer research tells us that a lighter weight is very critical to enjoy performance." as the iPad is bigger and a little too heavy for single handed usage for extended periods. The Tab on the hand is about half the weight of the iPad. As if to underline Mr Hong added "the most important thing for the Galaxy Tab is portability."

New HTC Wildfire and Desire Colors is coming to shelves in time for the holiday season are a new, white HTC Desire and a silver HTC Wildfire. HTC said this was something of a departure for the company usually they just prepare an initial range of colors and thats it but certainly fans are glad that they did give us more colors like other Smartphones Manufactures do and its may be the First time that HTC provide Smartphone with more than one color.
The white Desire is gorgeously appealing and in the absence of a white iPhone 4 these two devices has a Big chance. to Refresh your memory the HTC Desire features a large 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen of WVGA resolution and is powered by a zippy 1GHz Snapdragon processor. Also on board there are 576MB of RAM memory, a 5MP autofocus snapper as well as the Android 2.2 Froyo.

Specs: The T-Mobile G2 has a 3.7-inch touchscreen and runs Froyo and the Flash 10.1 is ON and support full flash. Apple just Released the iOS 4.1 to public release with the iTunes 10. If you have an iPhone 3G,3GS,4 connect your device and open your itunes to check for an update. The 4.1 will bring many Features Especially the HDR photographing and the iPhone 3G Bug Hot-fixes which needed in order to fix the Fail of the iOS 4.0 on the iPhone 3G which caused many problems but Apple promised to release a fix and here it is the OS 4.1.
Also iPhone Developers Blog says that this update is a trap from Apple and recommend that no user that have a JB/unlocked iPhone to upgrade to the 4.1 and called it "its a Trap" and it will remove the unlocking and JB setting of the phone Forever!

Nokia has announced an official launch date and pricing for its Symbian^3 smartphone. The device will is available at the Nokia Online Shop (30,september) and it will appear in UK stores on October 1. but it will be Delivered online Pre-order People on 30, september with FREE shipping!

KaiFu Lee (the former president of Google China operation). is set to launch a new mobile operating system in the next few weeks called Tapas according to The Wall Street Journal. Its based on Google open source Android operating system, but is tailored for the Chinese market with additional software that can identify which city a person is calling from, the ability to sync contacts with Chinese social networks, a music player that goes out to the internet and grabs the lyrics to the song currently playing and then displays said lyrics on screen, as well as an eBook reader. Hardware partners that have committed to launching Tapas based devices are Sharp, Haier and Tianyu.
This is an exciting time for China who is now trying to break through the stigma that they are doing nothing but copying products and services from the west, but instead trying to create solutions tailored specifically for a market of over 1 billion people who will soon be demanding smartphones and the ability to browse the mobile web at speeds we have been enjoying in Europe and America for quite some time. Whether or not Tapas takes off is debatable.
