Starting tomorrow, May 22nd, customers using the shopkick mobile app will be rewarded simply for walking into any of the almost 1,300 Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores across the country. The rollout will make Best Buy the first of shopkick launch partners and first consumer electronics retailer to provide this "engaging mobile shopping experience" to its customers on a national scale.

Best Buy started trailing the service since last August when it was unveiled in 257 stores. Obviously that worked for them and now they are going for the masses, rewarding them just for entering the store.

 

Mozilla recently introduced the Forefox Aurora development channel to support more frequent updates and today they released a spanking new beta of the upcoming Firefox 5.

 

The first beta comes to you after a mere five weeks of testing on the Firefox Aurrora channel. New additions include a feature called channel switcher. The beauty of this feature is that a user no longer has to download separate versions of the browser. With the channel switcher, a user can simply switch between the release, beta and Aurora version of the application. The option will be placed in the About section of the browser.

 

The Firefox 5 beta also boasts of performance and stability enhancements and support for the new CSS animation standards.

 

With Firefox Beta you can enjoy your favorite features like Sync, Add-ons and the Awesome Screen, while being one of the first to use brand new features and functionality that will be in the upcoming stable release of Firefox for mobile.

Angry Birds Rio is the third installment of the popular game by Rovio. iOS users already got an update to Rio with some Beach Volley action, but now its Android users turn.

The update is out for Android and it started off with the Amazon app store at first, but has quickly moved on to the stock Android Market. As usual the game is free for droid users and you can get it here. Or just go on the Android Market through your phone and do it from there.

Are you stuck with a WP7 device and have nothing interesting to play? Well, this is going to change soon. Six popular mobile games will hit the Windows Phone Market very soon Angry Birds, Plants vs. Zombies, Sonic 4, geoDefence, Doodle Jump and Hydro Thunder Go.

 

Microsoft promised us some popular iOS and Android games soon and it is keeping up to that. The first game Hydro Thunder Go is going to be released on 25 May. On 1 June we will get Doodle Jump, then geoDefence, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode I, Plants vs. Zombies and finally, Angry Birds as a desert on 29 June.

 

 

Infinity Blade, the fastest grossing app on iOS, received a big update today, which features two new play modes, new in-game items, achievements and more. The update to v1.3 brings Arena and Survival modes. Survival mode is no surprise it pits you against an endless hoard of Titans and you have to survive as long as you can. Arena mode is the more interesting of the two however. It is basically multiplayer mode that lets you challenge your friends to a dual via the Game Center.

 

There are new in-game items too more than two dozens of rings, swords, shields and so on, including Holiday helms. Those include a new helm for every holiday season. There are new achievements, leaderboards and more.

 

 

The update to version 1.3 is free or you can buy the whole game for $3. Its recommended that you update to the latest version of iOS and kill the background process before updating.
