Easter is coming and you know how RovioMobile, the developer of the blockbuster game Angry Birds rolls when a major holiday is just around the corner. Yes, an Easter update to Angry Birds Seasons is imminent and is coming later this month, as Rovio themselves tweeted recently.

The exact number of levels the update is going to include is not clear yet, but I personally expect around 15 levels worth of pig slaying. But thats not all the original Angry Birds and the latest Angry Birds Rio will also get updated.

@Grace_Kyles_Mom Angry Birds Seasons will get an amazing update for Easter, the other two will get updates in May
AB Rio twit normal Angry Birds Seasons gets an update for Easter, the original Angry Birds and Rio are not left out

Fring is preparing an update for its apps, which will add four-way group video calls. The service will work on iOS, Android and Symbian and best of all, it will allow for cross-platform video conferencing too. Fring is currently working to launch a closed beta which will be available to a limited group of people.

The Amazon Appstore for Android has certainly generated a lot of buzz both before and after its launch. Much of it has to do with the lawsuit from Apple regarding the use of the term Appstore.

Today however, I am not going to pay any attention to the legal battles which surround Amazon latest venture. Instead, I am going to simply look briefly into its functionality in comparison with the high and mighty Android Market. First, the basics. You need to have a US Amazon account to get the Android Appstore to work on your smartphone. This little requirement automatically excludes a lot of potential consumers.

Another nuisance is the one-click-payment method, which you must activate even in order to get free apps. The lack of a purchase confirmation button before buying an app, combined with the aforementioned function, means that if you hit the "Buy App" button accidentally, your credit card gets charged and you end up paying for a product which you might not want. It happened to me already.

Opera just announced reaching 100 monthly million mobile users. But this time its all about the smallest Opera browser of the bunch, Opera Mini. The diminutive web browser also serves a gargantuan number of page views per day as much as 2 billion and Opera CEO reportedly said "Sweet!" upon hearing the news.

Last month when Opera Mini and Opera Mobile reached 105 million users, Mobile accounted for 15 million of those. Now, Mini users alone are above 100 mil having grown by about 11 million since last month and doubling the numbers of February last year.

I wonder if the new Opera Mini 6 has something to do with that. Anyway, Opera Mini on all platforms (and there are a lot of supported platforms) handles 2 billion page views a day, double from what it did back in July 2010.

By a lucky coincidence a tech site Techfrom10 dot-com, came across the new Music application for Android. We have prepared some screenshots to show you how good the new UI looks.

In terms of looks the new music app looks a lot like the Vanilla gallery. It has interactive backgrounds, which move around, float and change colors. Usability needs some polishing, though. It lagged on our Optimus 2X and did not seem too intuitive. For example the music player on the Samsung Galaxy S is way easier to use and looks great too.
