Chrome

Earlier today, Microsoft Security Essentials mistakenly flagged Google Chrome as malware "Win32/Zbot" a trojan that steal your saved Passwords and began blocking the program. In many instances Chrome was entirely removed from users computers. Apparently, Chrome was being incorrectly identified as a member of the Zeus malware family, but Microsoft has since released an update to fix the issue.

Error users get when trying to tun Chrome.exe

Complaints started early this morning in Google help forums, where users became frustrated after discovering that their Chrome browser had been wiped from their PCs. Some users recounted that upon starting up their PCs, they received a Windows Security warning to remove a security problem. After clicking the Remove button and restarting the PC, they found that Chrome had gotten deleted and could not be re-installed.

Microsoft has since apologized for the mistake and issued a statement along with updated signatures that should fix the problem.

Nexus S

The Upcoming Android Icecream Sandwich 2.4 was leaked to Gogle Nexus S with many improvements nad new UI, Also an Advanced task manager.

One look at the UI and we can see it matches what we have already seen of it. The homescreen now has four icons at the bottom next to the application drawer button, the folder function seems to have had a makeover, there is a new look notification screen and an application drawer that looks straight out of Honeycomb as does the new task manager with large thumbnail images of the running apps.

What we have not seen before is the new lock screen. You can now see that you will be able to launch the camera app right from the lock screen. Android phones from HTC and other OEMs have had this functionality before but its only now that Android is getting it by default. Hopefully this feature is customizable so you will be able to add other functions as well other than the camera app.

gsmarena 001 Google+ hits 50 million users, adds CityVille to its arsenal

Recently, there were rumors that Google+ is starting to lose its goal and that users are leaving the social network rather than joining it. As it turns out, those were hugely exaggerated as the Google social network now has over 50 million users.

Thats 50 million people that registered in the 88 days since the network launched. A really impressive achievement, considering that Google+ was invite-only since last week. To put things in perspective, Facebook took almost four year to get that many users, while Twitter achieved it in three years.

Google sim card

There is some potentially huge news popping up out of Spain, as reports suggest that Google is doling out its own SIM cards to employees in what could be the first step to it launching its own carrier in the country.

Technically, this would be what is known as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator or an MVNO, as Google would likely purchase airtime from a carrier at a wholesale rate and then resell it under its own branding. We have seen this model burn out in the United States, as Disney, ESPN, Helio and Virgin Mobile all tried the MVNO game before either dying or selling to a major carrier.
