Photos of another upcoming high-end Motorola smartphone leaked today. Dubbed Motorola Droid HD the monster of a smartphone is built around a 4.5" LCD and runs of the latest smartphone-tailored edition of Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

The Motorola Droid HD also features an 8 megapixel main camera, capable of recording 1080p videos, and a front-facing snapper for those video-chats that you love so much.

There is also a microUSB port and an HDMI port on the ultra-slim body. Alas, we do not know yet if the Motorola Droid HD screen will really come with HD resolution (as in 1280 x 720 pixels), or if it settle for the qHD res (960 x 540 pixels) of the Motorola Atrix.

Today has surely been one busy day for the folks at Motorola Mobility. Shortly after their company acquisition by Google became news, they found some extra time to announce their latest droid in their already colorful lineup the Motorola Defy+.

As the name of the device suggests, the Motorola Defy+ is closely related to the original Motorola Defy, which we came to know well. This time however, the device got a number of updated features, which are bound to keep it attractive throughout 2011.

The most notable changes in the Motorola Defy+ are the new 1GHz CPU, Android latest Gingerbread 2.3 OS, and a larger 1700mAh battery. Interestingly enough, the Google OS is still dressed in MOTOBLUR.

The device has gotten even tougher than its predecessor and can prove it by a certification for covering the IP67 water, dust, scratch, and drop resistance standards. In plain language, this means that the device will handle any normal daily use and abuse without breaking any sweat. How far it can go in this department, we are yet to see.

Apparently there is something wrong with theMotorola Titanium when Sprint and Moto decided to launch the first firmware update only days after the launch. We are not whats all included here, but can only guess some of the known bugs will be fixed to ensure the Titanium runs smoother and faster.

The official launch date of the new OTA firmware is set at August 15th though that does not mean you will get it exactly on Monday. Over the air updates are known to be late for some users as the carrier and Motorola are balancing their server loads.

If you are one of those folks desperately waiting for the Motorola Droid Bionic to start selling on Verizon Wireless we have sort of good news to share. I am saying "sort of" cause the device is still not available but is rather inching towards the big date. As part of that process, the Big Red carrier prepared a dedicated page from where users can sign-up and be notified when Moto baby hits Verizon portfolio, which we believe will happen at some time in 8th September.

In the meantime, let me recap the Bionic key strengths they include a large 4.3-inch qHD touchscreen, 1GHz dual-core processor, 8-megapixel camera with auto-focus and HD video recording capability, 1GB of RAM, LTE connectivity, 16GB of built-in storage, an array of sensors, Bluetooth and a memory card slot. Sure enough, once released it will be the single best Android smartphone in Verizon portfolio.

According to German website mobiFlip.de, O2 in Germany is planning on launching the Motorola DEFY+, an updated version of the current Defy.

The only changes we know of right now is a upgraded 1GHz processor from the 800MHz in the current DEFY and Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread instead of Froyo. Everything else seems identical, including the design.

To be honest, those were the only two drawbacks of the current DEFY and we are glad that the new model addressed those. This does raise questions whether the old model will get the Gingerbread update or will be limited to Froyo.

The release date is set sometime in the third week of September and the phone will be sold at an approximate price of € 300.
