Although the Motorola Xoom launched with the bragging rights of being the first ever Honeycomb tablet, it never really tasted the kind of successes that Motorola (or Google) may have been hoping for. Not only was it considerably overshadowed by the iPad, it also got forgotten when newer and more exciting Honeycomb tablets started appearing.

One of the reasons for its lackluster sales could be attributed to its high price. So to address this Motorola has finally slashed the price of the base model by $100, bringing it down to $499. This, coupled with the fact that it has 32GB on-board storage, unlike 16GB on most of its similarly priced rivals, makes it bit better value. The other two models are still bit pricey, particularly the last one costing $799 without a data plan.

This is definitely not a surprise to us. After a series of rumors, including leaked tutorial videos, and aChinese launch three weeks ago, the Motorola Droid 3 finally got officially announced for Verizon Wireless.

You can already purchase the dual-core packing, Android Gingerbread device online, directly from Verizon. All you need to do is sign a two-year contract with a qualifying data plan, and give away 199.99 of your hard earned U.S. dollars. In case you are already a Verizon Wireless customer, the price of the smartphone sans contract is the highly affordable for a device of this stature $459.

It seems the day has come for those of you looking to grab the Motorola DROID 3. Moto QWERTY smartphone is now live on Verizon Wireless website though we still cannot get to the product page. I assume this will change later in the day when the official press release will be sent out to the media. In the meantime, you can hop over to the new products page and see this baby in its full glory.

We have already said all there is to say about the DROID 3. It comes with a 4-inch qHD touchscreen, dual-core 1GHz processor, 8-megapixel camera and that awesome 5-row keyboard along with other "standard for a high-end smartphone" bells and whistles like sensors, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS and so on.

With the hundreds of different Android devices out there, there will always be those who feel they have been left out in the cold when the device they bought last year is stuck on last year firmware whilst everyone around them appears to be running the latest and greatest.

For owners of the
Motorola Milestone XT720 on US regional carrier Cincinnati Bell, its been tough. They have been stuck on Android Eclair since day one for the past 12 months, whilst Froyo has been strutting its stuff and now Gingerbread is rubbing it in their faces too. For those customers determined enough and educated in the ways of rooting droids this probably hasn’t been so much of a problem as they enjoy Froyo like the rest of us. Those not so up for fiddling with files however have left well alone and had to make do without Flash 10.1 support, installing apps to the SD card and all the other Froyo benefits we now take for granted.

Cincinnati Bell have however recognized that such customers might be a little unhappy about all this, so what have they done? Its not everyday that your own carrier recommends you do something that could void your warranty, incur all sorts of unwanted charges and brick your phone, but CB have created a how-to video for rooting your XT720 so such users can finally join in on all the fun. Of course they also show you how to backup your important data and at the end of it all, un-root your phone too.

The Motorola Atrix 4G was launched with an excellent hardware but a rather outdated version of Android and on top of that had a locked bootloader like all Motorola Android phone. But thanks to code leaked from the Gingerbread update for the Atrix 4G, the good people at xda-developers have managed to unlock the bootloader on the phone.

This of course means that Motorola intended to unlock the bootloader on the Atrix 4G with their forthcoming Gingerbread update. It also means those short on patience can flash their phones with a Gingerbread ROM right now instead of waiting for Motorola to release it officially. Click on the source link below for more information and to unlock your bootloaders nao!
