Although Motorola announced the DROID BIONIC in April, the handset has not launched yet because Motorola wanted to make certain changes to the device. However, an image uploaded on Swedish mobile benchmarking site NenaMark suggests that the changes are quite dramatic.

Initially, the DROID BIONIC was reported to run on an Nvidia Tegra 2 chipset. But the image below tells us that it is now running on a TI OMAP based SoC. The GPU is mentioned as the PowerVR SGX 540 along with a 1GHz CPU, which means the SoC is most probably the OMAP4430, same as the one powering the BlackBerry PlayBook and the upcoming LG Optimus 3D.

As can also seen from the benchmark, the device is running Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread whereas when Motorola initially announced the device it was running Froyo.

Do not you just hate it when you redesign your site and accidentally leak a couple of unannounced devices? I know I would be pissed off if that happens to me. And probably Motorola does too as just such a mishap struck the US manufacturer, resulting in the leakage of four phones, a Xoom 2 tablet and a watch-phone. Rookie mistake!

The photos do not reveal much other than the names and design hints but they are still worth it to look at as they might give a clear idea of where Moto is headed in 2011. The first picture reveals a watch, acting as a standalone phone, dubbed the Tracy XL after Dick Tracy.

Next up we have two slim devices, the Slimline and below it, the front of a phone, named Zaha. At the bottom of the pictures we see a corner-shot of an alleged Xoom successor, of which we only have a supposed name the "Xoom 2", yeah, a no-brainer, but could be a codename too.

Finally, we see another phone in the page bottom-right corner and right in the middle too, called the Motorola Pearl, of which we have no information.

Web browsing is a tablets bread and butter and a key factor is how long you have got until you have to go looking for a wall socket. As part of our tests on the Motorola XOOM, we ran a battery test using the same method as when we tested the Galaxy S II.

Since a test like that takes hours on end, we have automated the web browsing with a simple script, which reloaded pages from our website hosted on a server in the local network. Both tablets were connected over Wi-Fi and had their screens set at 50% brightness. We also kept an eye on both tablets to make sure everything was going smoothly.

The tests were more taxing than real-life usage the script loaded a new page every 10 seconds. While most people spend more time on each page, they don’t start at 100% battery and browse till they run it dry either. hat we are trying to do here is come up with relative numbers will the Motorola XOOM or the iPad 2 give you more browse time? Note: we used the native web browsers on both tablets.

Tablet web browsing battery life test:

  1. Apple iPad 2 – 9:27
  2. Motorola XOOM – 7:35

The DROID 3 is another Motorola upcoming smartphone that keeps leaking ahead of its official announcement. We first met it this March along with the already available DROID X2 and the still unannounced Tagra. Today an anonymous tipster revealed a few more details about the DROID 3.

First and most important it appears that the DROID 3 will not be an LTE-capable device. Despite Verizon aggressive promotion of its LTE network, it seems the DROID 3 will not join the elite group of LTE smartphones in its portfolio.

The other spicy info concerns the DROID 3 chipset according to the tipster it should be either NVIDIA Tegra2 or the TI OMAP4430 one, both featuring dual-core processors. Finally we have some info on the camera department the smartphone will supposedly pack an 8 megapixel snapper at the back and a 1.3 megapixel front camera for video calls.
