Good news, Motorola Defy owners, your Gingerbread is on the way. Whats even better is that a leaked image coming straight from the Motorola dev center will allow the most knowledgeable among you to bring their handsets to Android 2.3.3. right now.

Of course, even though its an official image, its not the final thing. The number of bugs reported by early adopters isn’t too big so far, but the signal issue might make you wait for an official release or another leak , particularly if you live in an area with less than stellar coverage.

Here is the list of major bugs compiled by the helpful guys over at XDA-developers:

• Data Manager does not show the volume of traffic
• Signal problem (calls and SMS seem to work, but "searching for signal" warning appears often and phone gets hot)
• 720p video recording does not work

Motorola just cannot keep this baby on a short leash before the official announcement. The DROID X2 has already leaked numerous times in the past few weeks. There is almost no detail that has not become clear already specificationspictures and even the release date.

Whats the today leak about then? Its the Motorola DROID X2 manual, uploaded directly on the Motorola official support website. The manual brings no surprises, previously leaked specs seem accurate as well as the leaked pictures. You can get a glimpse of what the Motorola DROID X2 is about.

Motorola DROID X2 just cannot stop showing its face before the official announcement. It is supposed to hit the stores on 26 May, while the pre-orders will start shipping on 19 May.

As you can see from the leaked information, the Motorola DROID X2 will hit Verizon network very soon. In case you have missed all the previous leaks, here is what you should expect Tegra2 chipset with 1GHz dual-core processor, a 4.3-inch qHD display, 8 megapixel camera/720p camcorder combo, 8GB internal memory, an 8GB bundled microSD card, a 1540mAh battery and 1080p TV-out via HDMI. There is nothing about LTE on the list, but we guess nothing is quite certain until we hear it official.

The DROID X2 should be running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread with the MOTOBLUR UI on top of it.

Motorola Mobility is out on its own in the world Q1 of 2011 was its first quarter as an independent company. Its net revenue went up by a third year over year but Moto is still in the red. On the upside, the number of units shipped increased.

The Mobile Devices division of Motorola Mobility reported $2.1 billion net revenue for the first quarter of 2011, up 30% from last year first quarter. Moto shipped 9.3 million mobile devices, including 4.1 million smartphones and only 250,000 Motorola XOOM tablets. Last year those numbers were 8.5 million mobiles, only 2.3 million of which were smartphones .

However, this quarter Motorola Mobility posts an operating lossof $89 million better than the $192 million loss of last year Q1 and within expectations, but still a loss nontheless. The next quarter, they expect to at least break even and maybe make a small profit.

Motorola Mobility acquired a company that specializes in enterprise mobile security and device management for Android and plans to integrates the technology into their own smartphones and license it out to other makers.
