Xoom

One of the mostly anticipated product announcements at CES has undoutedly been Motorola Honeycomb powered tablet, the Motorola Xoom. The device sports a dual core Tegra 2 running at 1 Ghz with a 10.1 inch screen and 4G connectivity. The device is headed for the American Verizon network although the 4G connectivity won't be available at launch, rather it will come about through an update planned for some time in Q2.

The device also supports 720p video recording, 1080p playback, 1280x800 resolution display, a 5 MP camera and 32 GB of internal storage. With all that going on you will no doubt be wondering about battery life, but it's apparently been rated at 10 hours so not too shabby.

Motorola Mobility has pulled yet another ace from its sleeve the Motorola XOOM 10.1-inch tablet has a dual-core Tegra 2 at its heart and Android 3.0 Honeycomb in its mind. Like the Atrix phone, the Motorola XOOM is all about accessorizing like, say, a wireless keyboard, or maybe a dock or two…

NVIDIA Tegra 2 is the next big thing in Android tablets and with 1GHz dual-core CPU, FullHD decoding and output via HDMI port and smooth Flash 10.1 support, thats no surprise.

The Motorola XOOM has a 10.1-inch screen with 1280×800 pixels resolution. There is a 2MP video-call camera on the front and a 5MP primary camera with dual-LED flash on the back with 720p video recording capabilities.

The XOOM will be leveraging on Verizon LTE network. It can also connect to Wi-Fi b/g/n networks working at either 2.4GHz or 5GHz. Local storage would not be a problem with the Motorola XOOM as it has 32GB of built-in memory and an SD card support. The Motorola XOOM measures in at 730g and is 12.9mm thick. The battery promises up to 10 hours of video playback.

I mentioned accessories, so here they are the Bluetooth wireless keyboard was designed for Android so it has the Android function keys, the Speaker HD Dock packs built-in speakers, HDMI port and three USB 2.0 ports. There is also a standard charging dock and a fancy leather Portfolio Case.

Yesterday, Motorola announced the Atrix 4G for ATT and our collective geek jaws dropped. Today we hear its coming to the UK too plus a couple shots more of that Laptop Dock along with three other docks.

Orange UK and Motorola Mobility released good news today the Motorola Atrix is coming to the UK as well, its not just for ATT. Its just without that 4G moniker. They have also dropped a few juicy details on their European-spec Atrix. The new Moto Atrix packs an impressive 4-inch qHD (540x960) screen and is based on a dual-core Tegra 2 with a whole gig of RAM. The 1930mAh battery offers plenty of juice but the more impressive feat is that the Motorola Atrix packs all that in under 11mm thickness and just 136 grams.

Whats more, the unusual Laptop Dock turns the Atrix into a full-blown 11.6-inch smartbook with a full QWERTY keyboard. The Dock also houses stereo speakers and a 36Wh 3-cell battery for up to 8 hours of battery life. The Laptop Dock weighs 1.1kg and with full Firefox 3.6 and Flash support your netbook has become all but obsolete.

Anyway, there is another way to turn the Motorola Atrix into a computer-killer the HD Multimedia Dock. It packs an HDMI port for TVs or monitors, an audio jack and three USB ports to connect a keyboard and a mouse among other things.

Here is a more conventional Android smartphone by Motorola the QWERTY packing Motorola CLIQ 2, which is made for T-Mobile USA. With a 1GHz processor and Froyo, the Cliq 2 will easily put pressure on any other messaging droid especially with that clever keyboard design.

The Motorola CLIQ 2 is the follow-up to the original CLIQ, but the specs sheet has grown considerably since then. The screen is 3.7-inch big with WQVGA resolution (854x480 pixels) stretching almost edge to edge on the front.

Below that is a four-row slide-out QWERTY keyboard with a clever design to shorten the distance between keys. The Motorola CLIQ 2 has a connectivity full-house 3G, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot, DLNA and even Wi-Fi calling.

Other highlights of the Motorola CLIQ 2 include Motorola MOTOBLUR UI, which is very capable in the SNS department, a 5MP autofocus camera with dual-LED flash, Office document editor, Flash 10.1 support in the browser and a 2GB microSD card pre-installed.
