Nike and Casio demonstrated at CES 2011 their new watches aimed to make life a little bit easier on you. Prices and availability is still unknown, but they should surface soon enough.

With the help of TomTom navigation technology, Nike+ SportWatch GPS helps you track the calories you burn, how much time you have run, your location, heartbeat rate and also, well, shows you the time. The onboard memory module in the form of a USB dongle can save up to 50 different workouts and lets you upload them to Nike online community. Tapping the display tells the clock whether to start or end a run, which is great because you do not have to search for a button or anything. Here is Nike+ SportWatch GPS video ad.

As for Casio, the company has just released an interesting watch that lets you operate your phone via Bluetooth from the clock interface. Stopping an alarm, declining a phone call and checking for unread emails are some of the key features of the otherwise still nameless prototype. Its battery though is not swappable so if Bluetooth is turned on for 12 hours a day, it will serve you for about 2 years.

Acer has introduced two new Android Froyo smartphones on CES Liquid Mini and beTouch E210. The first one is a smaller version of the previous Liquid model, while the new beTouch is a QWERTY touch-bar.

Liquid Mini has a slightly smaller screen than its predecessors a 3.2-inch capacitive one with HVGA resolution. The rest of the specs include a 600MHz Qualcomm processor, 512MB RAM, 512MB ROM, 5 megapixel camera and the usual connectivity package. The Liquid Mini is expected to hit the shelves in April, but there is no info on the pricing yet.

The second announced phone is the beTouch E210. It has the same form-factor as the beTouch E130 a QWERTY touch-bar. In fact the beTouch E210 packs almost the same specs as its E130 sibling a 2.6-inch QVGA touchscreen, a 416MHz ST Ericsson PNX6715 processor, 256MB RAM, 512MB ROM and 3 megapixel camera.

The 10-inch Acer ICONIA Tab A500 tablet is flexing its Tegra 2 infused muscles at the CES 2011 booths. The Android-running tabled sports LTE connectivity courtesy of Verizon for high speed Internet access on the go.

The ICONIA Tab A500 tablet has a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen, which can track up to 10 touch points. Coupled with the 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 the screen will have plenty of work Flash 10.1 videos, 3D gaming and FullHD content.

Of course FullHD content is best viewed on a large TV and the HDMI port with 1080p output has that covered. Speaking of ports, the Acer ICONIA Tab packs both a microUSB port and a regular full-size USB port. The Tab A500 has a sleek brushed aluminum back and is just 13.3mm thick. It runs Android enhanced with Acer UI 4.5.

The powerful CPU and graphics from the NVIDIA Tegra 2 coupled with the responsive touchscreen and gyroscope have Acer confident they claim the ICONIA Tab A500 will provide a gaming experience comparable to game consoles.

The tablet war starts to heat up as ASUS announced last night not one, not two, but four new tablets, which run either Windows 7 Home Premium or Android Honeycomb with a custom user interface. The devices in question are the ASUS Eee Pad Slider, the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer and the ASUS Eee Pad MeMO and the ASUS Eee Slate EP121. Right off the bat the devices support full HD video playback, full Adobe Flash support and decent connectivity options.

Here are the prices of the tablets:

Asus Eee Pad Slate – $999 – $1099; available in January
Asus Eee Pad Transformer –
$399 – $699; available in April
Asus Eee Pad Slider –
$499 – $799; available in May
Asus Eee Pad MeMO –
$499 – $699; available in June

Asus Eee Pad Slider

Let’s start off with the Asus Eee Pad Slider. Packing a 10.1-inch IPS capacitive touch-screen and a sliding QWERTY keyboard that makes it look like a netbook, the tablet weighs only 2.2 pounds, which is just a bit more than the iPad. It also comes with a NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor and a NVIDIA GPU, although we don’t have much info about exact specifications of both.

A 5MP auto focus snapper at the back and a 1.2MP at the front should satisfy your needs for taking pictures and video-conferencing. The connectivity is also well covered. An optional 3G module is also available as well as a mini USB port, a mini HDMI port and a Micro SD card reader. The tablet runs Windows 7 Home Premium.

Asus Eee Pad Transformer

The Asus Eee Pad Transformer tablet is rather interesting too. It offers an optional dock that has a full QWERTY keyboard and an additional battery making the Transformer able to run for up to 16 hours. The tablet itself also packs a Tegra 2 processor and a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen. The same front and rear digital cameras are on board, 1.2MP and 5MP respectively. The tablet runs Windows 7 Home Premium.

ASUS Eee Pad MeMO

The Eee Pad MeMO is the smallest one of the pack with a 7.1-inch capacitive touch screen. Supposedly it could fit in the pocket of your jacket, but we are not sure you’d really keep it there. Unlike its bigger brothers however, its got a Snapdragon processor. Naturally, it runs Android 3.0 Honeycomb instead of Windows 7.

Tech-wise, its got the same 1.2MP and 5MP cameras as the bigger slates. It also comes with a stylus pen. A great feature is the Micro HDMI port, which allows streaming full HD videos to an external display.

The fella in question with the rather mouthful of a name is developed by ASUS and the creators of Kinect motion-sensing camera system PrimeSense. With its main habitat being the living room, it allows you to control your TV-attached PC using full body interactions.

Browsing multimedia content, accessing the Internet and social networking are among some of the possible uses of the WAVI Xtion, which will be released in phases sometime during Q2 this year.

At CES 2011 PrimeSense and ASUS will also reveal their 3D sensing development studio named Xtion PRO. The software will allow developers to create gesture-based applications, which will make use of this PC controller. The WAVI Xtion seems to be centered around multimedia use only. Gamers will have to wait for Microsoft to launch Kinect for the PC. The price of the WAXI Xtion is still unknown.
