supertooth speaker SuperTooth HD speakerphone and SuperTooth Disco portable stereo speaker unveiled

Bluetooth accessories maker SuperTooth unveiled two cool products at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The first one is SuperTooth HD which is touted to be the most advanced Bluetooth speakerphone on the market. The device comes with new Twin Speaker V Array Technology, rocking 2 5-Watt speakers and a 5.4-Watt amplifier for higher audio power. On the other hand, its dual microphone picks up voices more clearly to enable an amazing audio quality, both in emission and reception.

Then there is the new Dial2Do-powered SuperText feature, allowing users to compose and send SMS, emails, Facebook and Twitter notes. Additionally, the SuperTooth HD can read your incoming SMS or accept voice commands to call pre-dialed phone numbers, check your voice mail and so on.

The other device is SuperTooth Disco, the first portable stereo speaker with 28 watts of sound. It comes with a rechargeable battery that ensures three to four hours of non-stop, high-volume music, and up to ten hours of moderately played melodies. The Disco comes in a sleek and compact packaging, with a case that easily slides into a purse or bag.

The SuperTooth Disco is already available for $149.00, while the SuperTooth HD will hit store shelves in April.

Tablets dominated much of the attention at the Mobile World Congress and with good reason. Some of the new phones were not terribly impressive, while there were plenty of new things in the tablet world.

Hot on the heels of yesterdays tease about Firefox 5, Chrome and Opera web browsers are venturing bravely into double-digit version numbers Chrome 10 is finally available as a beta, and Opera is showing off version 11.10. Opera already has v11.01 as stable so the update is fairly minor.

Chrome on the other hand is getting much faster JavaScript, GPU-accelerated video and some UI polish.

Chrome 10 beta brings a 66% increase in performance in the V8 benchmark over the current stable version (version 9). The boost is thanks to the new Crankshaft engine, which adds more aggressive optimizations to the V8 JavaScript engine.

The other new performance-related feature in Chrome 10 beta is the GPU-accelerated video decoding, which can reduce CPU usage five times when viewing full screen video.

Also, the beta adds syncing across multiple computers for passwords, bookmarks, settings, extensions and themes. Settings use a new UI which has a handy search feature

It might sound a bit strange, but the User Experience team at Mozilla Corporation has already started working on how the Firefox 5 user interface will look like and we have some screenshots for you. Yes, even though the first Firefox 4 Release Candidate is expected to come out in late February or even early March, the UX engineers have already started throwing in ideas on how the user experience could be improved for the future version of my all-time favorite browser.

The designers have already revamped the way the search field looks like, for example. And they have not stopped there.

On the to-do list are webapp improvements, menu fixes, new session restoring and many more detail improvements. The people at Mozilla have been very picky on how the menus in general behave and act.

Another great idea thats been floating around is the development of site-specific apps. Those can be placed on the top left of the window and can act like a bookmarks folder for your favorite websites or give you site-specific options and links.

In Firefox 5 the add-on manager has also been revisited. It will show you more detailed information about the addo-ns you have installed and in general will give you more options about them.

Firefox 5 release is expected to be around the end of the first half of 2011. Meanwhile, I am still impatiently waiting for Firefox 4 to hit the Mozilla download area in a proper version. The Firefox team has to work out the 22 bugs left in the Firefox 4 beta.

The Global Mobile Awards just announced the winners for 2011. A couple of phone makers and several software developers were honored this year. Some of the winners were expected, while others came as a surprise.

We will take a quick look at the two more interesting categories the App Awards and Best Mobile devices award. You can check out the full list of winners and the GSMA judges comments over at the Award website.

The Apple iPhone 4 was chosen for the Best Mobile Device award, commended for its sharp screen, build materials and last but not least the "phenomenal" ecosystem for apps and their developers.

The Device Manufacturer of the Year award was snatched up by HTC. The company built itself up from obscurity with fresh branding and marketing and offers a solid portfolio across software platforms. Their Android offerings stand out the most though, especially the HTC Desire. HTC also received a pat on the back for good customer service.

On the software side, Rovio scored both the App of the Year on the Apple Platform and the overallBest Mobile App award. Google and BlackBerry won the awards for best app on their own platforms, for Google Maps and BlackBerry Messenger respectively. Herocraft and InnerActive are taking home the "App of the Year on the Nokia Platform" award for the Zum Zum game.
