Honor Magic V5 global launch set for August 28 in London

We finally have an official date for the Honor Magic V5 global launch. Honor confirmed the foldable will debut worldwide on August 28 at an event in London, a month after its launch in China.

The company revealed that the Magic V5 will ship in three colors: Dawn Gold, Black, and Ivory White. At just 8.8mm thick when folded, it’s the slimmest foldable in its category. Despite the thin frame, Honor has managed to squeeze in a 5,820mAh battery with support for 66W wired and 50W wireless charging. The phone also carries IP58 and IP59 ratings for water and dust protection.

On the camera front, the rear setup includes a 50MP main lens, 50MP ultra-wide, and 64MP periscope telephoto. Dual 20MP selfie cameras sit on both the cover and main displays. The inner screen measures 7.95 inches, while the outer panel comes in at 6.43 inches.

Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, so performance should be top-tier. Other features include AI tools, dual stereo speakers, face unlock, an under-display fingerprint sensor, NFC, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6.0.

The timing of the Honor Magic V5 global launch is interesting. Samsung just announced its Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Google is rumored to be preparing the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. That means Honor’s latest flagship won’t just stand out for being thin, it will have to battle with some of the most high-profile foldables on the market.

Honor hasn’t shared global pricing yet, but with the Magic V5 set to debut in London later this month, we won’t have to wait long.
