Acer has introduced the Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 514, its first Chromebook powered by MediaTek’s Kompanio Ultra processor. Announced at IFA 2025, the laptop combines AI-driven features with long battery life and a sturdy convertible design.
The 14-inch Chromebook runs on the Kompanio Ultra 910 chip with an integrated NPU for on-device AI. In addition, Google AI is built into ChromeOS, offering tools like smart tab grouping, AI image editing, and a Quick Insert key for faster access to apps. Acer says the laptop can run for up to 17 hours on a single charge. Customers will also get a 12-month subscription to Google AI Pro, which adds extra storage and premium AI features.

The device is built for durability and meets MIL-STD 810H standards. It includes reinforced ports along with a 360-degree hinge that supports laptop, tablet, tent, and display modes. Buyers can also choose between WQXGA+ or WUXGA resolution touchscreens. Both protected by Gorilla Glass and supporting USI 2.0 styluses. Furthermore, optional features include a backlit keyboard, fingerprint reader, and AI-optimized webcams.
Alongside the Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 514, the company also introduced two new Chromebox models. The Chromebox CXI6 targets schools and businesses with up to an Intel Core 7 processor and support for four external monitors. It comes with multiple USB ports, dual HDMI, and 2.5G LAN for stable connections. Meanwhile, the fanless Chromebox Mini CXM2 offers a compact and quiet option, while still supporting up to three monitors.
The Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 514 will be available in October starting at $699.99 in North America and €699 in Europe. The Chromebox CXI6 arrives in December for $519.99, while the Mini CXM2 is planned for Q1 2026 at $329.99.
