If you own Sony’s latest midrange Xperia 10 VII, then we’d recommend checking your device for the latest software update – it seems that Sony has now started seeding out the Android 16 update for the Xperia 10 VII, following updates for the Xperia 1 VI and 10 VI last month.
With that in mind, the update arrives with software version number 72.1.A.2.65, and comes in at around 1GB. As for features, it comes with support for HDR screenshots, new Focus Modes, changes to image quality settings, improvements to Side Sense, more lock screen personalization options, new sound effect settings, battery status, and more. The update was spotted by the folks over at ytechb.com.

Compared to older Xperia 10 series models, the 10 VII comes with a much-improved display with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and a 120Hz refresh rate, and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It also features a new camera island design, which somewhat resembles that of Google’s Pixel smartphones.
Going back to the Android 16 update, it’s now rolling out for users in Europe and Japan, with more regions including Taiwan, Southeast Asia, and Hong Kong to follow.
