The OnePlus 15 is Now Official for Chinese Markets

It’s finally official – after months of anticipation, OnePlus has finally announced its latest flagship handset, the OnePlus 15. Announced initially for Chinese markets, the OnePlus 15 starts at less than 600 bucks when converted and packs some high-end hardware.

First up is its chipset, which takes the form of Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. This is accompanied by a variety of different storage and RAM configurations, which start at 256GB + 12GB, and max out at 16GB + 1TB, all powered by a pretty massive 7300 mAh battery with 120W charging speeds. It should be noted though that this setup is for Chinese markets, and the global variant may differ a bit.

OnePlus has also overhauled the design of the 15, which finally ditches the rounded off-centre camera island of its predecessors. It’s available in three different colour variants which include the highly-teased “Sand Dune” colour, as well as black and purple versions. In front you’ll find a 6.78-inch display with a 2772×1272 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, although OnePlus says that this can go up to 165Hz depending on certain apps.

Also missing this year is the Hasselblad camera branding, with OnePlus now using its own DetailMax engine for image processing. For hardware, the phone comes with a triple 50MP camera setup, while selfies are handled by a 32MP front-facing camera. Given the big changes, it should be interesting to see how the 15 fares against rivals on the market once it launches worldwide.
