Samsung Brings Enterprise-Grade Management and Extended Support to Galaxy XR

Along with Google’s recent changes to Android XR, Samsung also announced that it’s bringing a couple of major updates for Galaxy XR users, which bring more versatile enterprise tools, as well as extended software and platform support for the Galaxy XR.

More specifically, Samsung states that it will provide regular software updates and security patches for the Galaxy XR for up to five years, which if we’re being honest isn’t too bad especially for a device that’s not as “mainstream” as some of the company’s other product categories.

For enterprise, the company says that the new update will allow organizations to use the same management tools found in millions of mobile devices. This includes full support for managed and dedicated device use cases, which gives IT departments control over corporate-owned deployments. For large-scale rollouts, the system now includes enrollment methods such as Android zero-touch, QR code setup, as well as Device Policy Controller identifier provisioning.

Meanwhile, security and application management get new updates via support for direct app installation, and administrators can now enforce hardware-level protections, set password policies, and execute remote wipes to safeguard sensitive data. James Choi, EVP and Head of XR R&D Team, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung comments:

Our vision for XR extends beyond hardware — it’s about building a secure, scalable ecosystem informed by our users… With Android Enterprise support and ongoing platform upgrades, Galaxy XR demonstrates how real-world use cases across work, discovery and play influence our direction.
