The Razer Wolverine V4 is a Customizable Xbox Controller Built for Competitive Showdowns

Third-party Xbox controllers are a dime-a-dozen these days, but only a few ever go beyond the boundaries of what makes an actual good controller. That in mind, gaming accessory brand Razer wants to win over the hearts (and hands) of Xbox players with its new Wolverine V4 controllers, which consist of the V4 Pro and the wired Wolverine V4 Tournament Edition for Xbox and PC.

For one, the Wolverine V4 Pro comes with capacitive thumbstick sensors which use a 16-bit ADC chip to register roughly 3,000 steps of movement for smoother tracking, zero drift, and enhanced accuracy during gaming. The controllers also support up to 250 Hz polling on Xbox Series X|S consoles and scaling up to an ultra-fast 8,000 Hz HyperPolling rate on PC, whether used wired or wirelessly.

The Wolverine V4 Pro also features a new magnetic system that allows users to quickly swap out four removable back buttons and two claw-grip bumpers without tools. The controller likewise comes with Razer Pro HyperTriggers, which lets players instantly swap between a lightning-fast digital mouse-click actuation for shooting games and a full-range analog pull for racing simulators, for example.

The controller is also highly customizable with removable magnetic faceplates as well as software support for Razer Synapse, where players can adjust trigger actuation distances from 1.3 mm to 8.2 mm, tweak dead zones from 0% to 15%, and save up to four onboard profiles.

Other features include reinforced PBT mecha-tactile face buttons, an 8-way floating D-pad, textured TPU side grips, and six interchangeable thumbstick caps to accommodate different play-styles. The Razer Wolverine V4 Pro starts at $199.99.
