A while back, we got word that Chinese smartphone giant Vivo is working on its mixed-reality (MR) headset, and it looks like the company has now officially unveiled it to the public. Dubbed the “Vivo Vision Discovery Edition,” the headset was announced alongside Vivo’s 30th anniversary event as well.
Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 processor, Vivo says that the Vivo Vision Discovery Edition was engineered with a focus on user comfort and practicality, and weighs just 398g. Its design also features a customizable fit with four sizes of light seals and eight foam padding options, which should keep things comfy even on long periods of usage.

The company adds that the headset uses high-precision eye-tracking and 26 degrees of flexibility for fingertip gesture recognition, which in theory allows users to move beyond traditional “tap-through-screen” interactions. The Vivo Vision also comes with Dual Micro-OLED screens with an 8K binocular resolution for displaying content, and can generate a 120-foot virtual theater screen for watching movies or allow for split-screen viewing of different content simultaneously.
