Honor’s next foldable is gunning for the biggest battery we’ve ever seen

Battery life has always been the weak spot for foldable phones. Fitting a big enough cell into a device that folds in half is tricky, and most manufacturers play it safe. Honor hasn’t exactly played it safe with its foldables, though, and the Honor Magic V6 battery rumors suggest the company is about to take things to a whole new level.

According to certification data from China’s 3C authority, the top-end Magic V6 variant is expected to pack a 7,150 mAh battery. That’s split across two cells, which is how foldables typically manage the extra capacity inside a hinged body. For context, the current record-holder for foldable battery size is the nubia Fold with 6,560 mAh. The Magic V6 would beat that by nearly 600 mAh.

The battery isn’t the only thing getting a big upgrade. According to leaks, the phone will also support 120W wired fast charging, a notable jump from the Magic V5’s 66W. That’s faster than most foldables currently on the market.

What else we know about the Magic V6

The rest of the leaked spec sheet is just as impressive. The Magic V6 is reportedly powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and features a triple rear camera system led by a 200MP main sensor. A periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom rounds out the camera setup. The phone is also said to be thinner and lighter than its predecessor, which is a bold claim given that the Magic V5 was already one of the slimmest foldables around.

It’s worth noting that not all variants get the 7,150 mAh cell. Standard models are tipped to come with a 6,850 mAh battery instead, still a significant size. NotebookCheck also points out that Honor tends to ship international versions with slightly smaller batteries than Chinese units, so global buyers may see a marginally lower capacity than the headline figure.

We’ll get official confirmation soon. Honor has confirmed the Magic V6 will debut at MWC 2026 on March 1 in Barcelona. That’s just days away.
