Simply releasing a Motorola Droid 2 with internals capable of global roaming probably would not have done much to differentiate the world device from the D2 currently on Verizons shelves, so good thing Big Red decided to give the phone a cosmetic makeover. This is our first look at what will be the Droid 2 World Edition with its white casing and silver screen bezel as opposed to the blue and gunmetal of the first Droid 2. Rumor has it this one might replace the first iteration of the Droid 2 outright in VZW lineup.
Other than the new colors and roaming capabilities, looks like we will be getting the same exact phone. We more or less expected that, though some were holding out hope for some tweaks in the hardware here and there.
HTC have gone and released an official HD promo for the UPcoming Desire HD and its a pretty decent look at the device given that the video is amost 8 minutes long. The promo is called HTC Desire HD A Closer Look and thats exactly what youget. The narration and tone of the video almost puts you in mind of an Apple video, but with less schmaltz and far less use of the word "magical". Its worth a look, especially if you are thinking of buying this device.

Marvell (The Hardware corporation not the Comics book publisher) have taken the wrapper off their new baby, the Armada 628 application processor. It is a beast of a processor with 3 cores, two of which will be running at a nippy 1.5 GHz. It crams in enough power to render 200 million triangles per second and can support simultaneous dual 1080p video streams.
Battery life is another area where the chip can boast some impressive specs and claims to be \"ultra\" low in its power consumption. 1080p video should last for 10 hours and you would be looking at somewhere in the vicinity of 140 hours of music playback. It also packs in support for USB 3.0. There is no word on when exactly it will be released, but hopefully soon as smartphones could do with a boost, especially in the power consumption department!
