Xiaomi India released another phone in the budget category today for just Rs. 9,999. The same phone was launched earlier in China, with an almost similar price tag. Redmi 9 Prime manages to impress its fan base with premium features like FHD+ resolution supporting display, heavy processor, a massive battery, and quad rear cameras.
The Redmi 8 Prime has an attractive Aura 360 design. It features a 3D unibody with concentric circles around the rear cameras. The phone case has an anti-fingerprint ripple texture feature for a better grip. The Redmi 9 Prime features a 6.53-inch IPS LCD with a waterdrop notch. The device comes with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone is shielded by Gorilla Glass panel 3. The screen of the device features a pre-installed screen protector. The phone comes with Android 10 OS with MIUI 11 on the top.
The phone is powered by a processor that is a gaming-centric Helio G80 chipset by MediaTek powers. The Redmi 9 Prime features a 4GB RAM and has two internal storage options available in 64GB and 128GB. You can extend the storage via a microSD card slot on the phone. The device has an AI-powered quad-camera system on the rear side that includes a 12-megapixel primary camera lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera lens, a 2-megapixel depth assist lens, and a 5-megapixel macro lens with 2cm focal length. At the front, the Redmi 9 houses an 8-megapixel selfie camera with portrait mode.
The device is powered by a massive 5,020mAh battery that can last up to 2 days with medium usage. The Redmi 9 Prime comes with a 10W charging through USB-C that allows users to charge the phone with 18W fast charger from the Xiaomi. Other features that are available on the Redmi 9 Prime are wireless FM radio, dual SIM slot, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, 1217 ultra-linear speaker, USB-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Lastly, Xiaomi is offering a transparent protective case in the retail package of the device.
