The Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 reveal is days away, and the price isn’t great news

Motorola has been slowly building toward its next big foldable moment. The company confirmed an official reveal for April 29, and with that date just around the corner, the leaks have been coming fast. A new report published this week has given us what may be our clearest look yet at where the Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 lands in terms of pricing, and it’s not exactly a welcome surprise.

According to the report, the Razr Ultra 2026 will reportedly carry a starting price of $1,499.99 in the US. That’s a $200 jump from the Razr Ultra 2025, which launched at $1,299.99. The same leak places a May 21 US release date on the lineup, with the standard Razr 2026 and Razr+ 2026 also reportedly seeing price bumps of $100 each.

What You’re Actually Getting for the Extra Money

That $200 increase is tough to digest when you look at what’s reportedly changing under the hood. As we covered last week, the Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 is shaping up to be a very familiar phone. The display setup is reportedly unchanged: a 7-inch inner screen and a 4-inch cover display, same as the current model. Camera hardware looks identical too, with a triple 50MP setup carrying over from 2025. The Snapdragon 8 Elite chip is also reportedly sticking around for another year.

The one meaningful change, according to leaks, is the battery. It reportedly grows from 4,700mAh to 5,000mAh, with 68W wired charging staying put. That’s it.

To be fair, rising component costs have been a real factor across the Android market in 2026, so a price hike isn’t unique to Motorola. The 2025 Razr lineup launched to strong reception and helped Motorola hold a dominant position in the US foldable market. None of these figures are confirmed yet. There’s still a chance the official April 29 reveal tells a different story. For now, $1,499.99 for a phone that’s mostly the same as last year is a hard number to get excited about.
