Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra could be shaping up to deliver one of the biggest display upgrades in years. A new report suggests the phone may use next-gen CoE OLED panels. These panels promise brighter visuals, sharper color, and improved power efficiency.
CoE OLED, short for Color filter on Encapsulation, changes how the screen handles light. Instead of separating the color filter and the light-emitting layer, Samsung combines them into a single structure. This improves light output, making the screen brighter without burning through battery life. For users, that means better outdoor visibility and a more vibrant display that still sips power.
The panel could also bring more accurate colors and a wider color gamut. Because the filters are closer to the light source, colors appear cleaner and more realistic. Add in better light efficiency, and you’ve got a screen that doesn’t just look great, it’s smarter with power too.
Tipster Ice Universe also hinted at the use of “depolarizer” tech. This reduces internal reflections, which helps with contrast and sharpness.
But the display might not be the only upgrade. Rumors also point to Samsung improving other core areas. Faster charging could finally be coming, beating the current 45W limit on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. There’s also talk of a new SUS CAN battery that could offer higher capacity or longer lifespan without increasing size. And while the camera may stick to the same megapixel count, Samsung is reportedly working on a larger sensor for better low-light and dynamic range.
If all these changes stick, the Galaxy S26 Ultra could offer the best blend of screen quality, battery life, and camera performance Samsung has ever delivered.
