LG’s Newest UltraGear Monitor Packs a 1000Hz Refresh Rate

While it can sometimes feel like we’ve hit a plateau when it comes to gaming tech, it goes without saying that we’re still seeing some pretty surprising developments in terms of hardware. One good example is LG’s new UltraGear 25G590B, which according to the company is the world’s first Full HD gaming monitor with a native 1000Hz refresh rate.

LG says that the new monitor is designed for competitive esports like first-person shooter (FPS) games, which combines its 1000Hz refresh rate with a native 1920x1080p resolution. You’re getting a 24.5-inch IPS panel with a low-reflection film to reduce glare, along with built-in Motion Blur Reduction Pro technology. As with most other consumer electronics hardware these days, the 25G590B comes with AI features such as AI Scene Optimization that can adjust picture settings based on game genre, and AI Sound which cleans up spatial audio and voice chat when paired with supported headsets.

The UltraGear 25G590B is scheduled to launch in select markets during the second half of 2026, with global availability expanding throughout the remainder of the year. Lee Choong-hwoan, head of Display Business at LG’s Media Entertainment Solution Company comments:

This is a defining moment for gaming monitors… By delivering the world’s first native 1000Hz FHD gaming monitor, LG has established a new performance benchmark for competitive gaming.
