Chinese smartphone brand Honor isn’t exactly a stranger when it comes to using silicon carbon batteries in its smartphones, and its new X70 Pro Max is no exception. Unveiled (somewhat discreetly) just recently, the phone is powered by a massive 8560mAh battery which outsizes most mainstream phones on the market these days.
With that said though, the phone’s processor does bring things down a notch—inside the device you’ll find a rather modest Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor, which is accompanied by 8GB of RAM along with 256GB of internal storage. The phone runs on MagicOS 10.0, a variant of Android which itself is based on Android 16.

One key feature of the phone is its durability, and in addition to IP69 dust and water protection, Honor says that the device has been lab-tested for drop protection.
In front you’ll find a 6.7-inch display with a 2640×1200 pixel resolution, while the rear panel of the phone houses a circular camera module which in turn features a 50MP main camera. There’s also an 8MP camera in front which handles selfies and video calls.
The phone is also available in a handful of different color variants including Bamboo Green, Phantom Purple, Phantom Night Black, and Sunburst Gold, and retails for roughly around 300 bucks (when converted). There’s no word yet on when the phone will launch worldwide, though it’s now been announced for buyers in China.
